RockPaperSquare + 100Layer Cake!
A couple months back, Marika, from Rock Paper Square, reached out to about a photo shoot she was planning, to show off her event planning and design skills. I was happy to provide furniture and accessories.
The day was a blast (pics here). We sipped cider, chatted about women in business, worked hard to get the best shots and I was lucky to connect with these lovely and creative ladies here in Victoria (Lillie Louise, Rook & Rose, Ma-Luxe, Ruth & Dean, Covet + Keep...I'm talking about you ;)
The shoot is now live on 100 Layer Cake! Here are some extra shots from that fabulous day.
The candids of Blayke and Allie are my favorite. They are an incredible (real life) couple.
A special thank you to Lillie Louise Photography for the stellar job she did with these pictures.

There's a lot to like here but I will start with the chair ;)
Pics from nyc
We were on the east coast this past weekend for a wedding and some general fun. I found these blankets at a shop called Bklyn Curated. I wanted to bring each and every one of them home with me. We walked right past their little shop after we went to Brooklyn Smorgasburg - a food and flea market on the water in East River State park. I ate the most delicious butter-dripping-down-your-chin lobster roll from Red Hook Lobster Pound. No pictures were available because I ate it so fast ;) It was my perfect Sunday afternoon.
Smorgasburg.
BKLYN.
No, I didn't wake up at 5am to go to the wholesale flower market. This bit of peony magic was spotted at Whole Foods Columbus Circle. Whole. Foods.
Cooling off at our favorite West Village bar.
Cafe Habana's Grilled Mexican Corn in Nolita.

Interior Inspiration
One day...in my dreams....I'll live in a place like the LA loft of Joan McNamara from Joan's on Third.
Shop Iron & Dibble
I came across Iron & Dibble while searching for a "steel planter" on Etsy. I'm a big fan of using the word patina in context and now I get the chance to ;) Her pieces are a great way to elevate the terra cotta pots we all have and use. She uses recycled steel and makes each piece to order.

Would you...Cardboard Furniture
Would you want or buy cardboard furniture? I saw this stool on Apartment 34. I was drawn to its modern shape, steely color but soft look. I was further shocked to find out that it's made of cardboard.
This prompted a search for other cool furniture of the same make. There's tons! Who knew?
This side table / stool from Australian company, The Karton, won me over with this photo:

How sweet is this polka dot glitter garland? It was be a great little DIY project. Images and DIY project found here.
Shop Moorea Seal
We're off to Seattle in a couple of weeks for a short weekend getaway and I am excited to check out the newly opened Moorea Seal.
Besides carrying lovely accessories and objects for you and your home, they do good. 7% of all proceeds go to various non profit in 5 different categories.
Their web shop is beautiful and surely their brick and mortal will impress.
Here are some of my favorites:
Morrea Seal is located at 2523 3rd Ave. Seattle, WA.
A fine combo.
This styled shoot from SMP is a great example how to mix the vintage aesthetic with a more modern / industrial one. The colors are soft but with a bit of pop. The chairs are metal and hard but the metallic textured fabric offers a nice compliment. Mixing vintage dishes with modern linens and mason jars with gold potted succulents also shows how these two styles can live together happily.

Things (well, rugs) I love from Pottery Barn
I will be the first to admit that Pottery Barn is really my style. It's a bit too safe for me as a go to shopping spot. But I was in there a few weeks ago looking for some dad-friendly picture frames and while wandering around, I am not embarrassed to admit it - I was impressed - with their rugs. Here are some of my favorites.
Karter kilim rug.
Bosworth printed rug.
Summer braided jute rug.
Arlington persian-style rug.
Bonnie stripe indoor.outdoor rug.
And fine. I like this Harlowe wire and glass indoor/outdoor pendent too.
